I recently purchased a copy of Emperor Battle for Dune and would love to play it, but cannot get it to work. I am running Windows 10 and have tried everything I can think of. Here is what I have done so far: Run compatibility mode Run as administrator Tried installing using 'Emperor Install Fix' Tried installing from CD as well as copying CD to HDD first and then installing Tried setting up a virtual PC using Virtual Box (XP SP 1 and 2) When I tried to run it in Virtual Box, I was able to install the game, but when I tried to open it it gives me the message of 'Game.exe has encountered a problem and has to close' When I try to run it in compatibality mode or adminstator in Windows 10, the game splash screen appears, goes away and nothing else happens. When I try to install game from HDD, it gives me the error message that game.exe is corrupt in the Emperor installation wizard.
Has anyone had any luck running this out of Windows 10, if so what did you do to make it work? Installing Emperor on Windows 10. You need an original setup disc with an original Serial Number. Its format could be something like this: 991 2 (of course, this is for illustration only and is not a valid original number). Copy the full content of the original setup disc in a new folder named EMPEROR1.
Download Fix 1.0 from “It is a rar file named EMPERORINSTALLFIX1.0.rar. Open and extract EMPERORINSTALLFIX1.0.rar. It contains 3 files: emperor.exe (92 KB), setup.exe (560 KB) and emperor.txt (2 KB). Read emperor.txt. You can try and follow the instructions. However, it did not work for me. What I did, is as follows:.
Opened the setup folder in the newly created EMPEROR1 folder (see point 2) and replaced the original 'setup.exe' file (1395 KB) with the newly downloaded “setup.exe” (560 KB) in the folder. Created an iso file from the new folder named EMPEROR1 (it already contains the new setup.exe (560 KB) in the setup folder). The file name and the disc name have to be “EMPEROR1.iso” and EMPEROR1, respectively. To do this I have used the MagicISO program.
Install EMPEROR using the newly created “EMPEROR1.iso”. During the installation you will need your original Serial Number. In my case after installation everything worked immediately (I did not used the downloaded emperor.exe – as written in the downloaded emperor.txt). Well, i did an even more amazing Job today.
I bought win10 for 30 Euro, installed it via Bootcamp on my Macbook. And since new macbooks do not have an cd/DVD drive, i installed virtual clone drive, made an Image of emperor1 cd on another Laptop, moved the Image to my macbook and after a few hours of Installation and Trouble here and Trouble there.i am running now emperor on my macbook.

I did try to run the setup.exe that the.rar provides; but it merely opened a window and then appeared to do little/nothing. I am not familiar with creating.iso files. If I create an.iso file, is it to be based on the CD or the copy of the CD that I made on my hard drive?.
Where is the.iso file to be located?. Does this procedure require me to burn a replacement CD (or CDs)?
I would prefer to be able to run the game with the original CDs I purchased. I have already spent some time on the internet trying to find a solution that I could successfully implement.

If the solution itself is complicated and/or will mean that running the game will be complicated, I may just have to give up and trash the game - which would be a shame, because I really enjoyed playing it 'back in the day.'
